Whether you’re new to jiu jitsu or a seasoned practitioner, our adult classes are organized to dynamically meet your individual needs and experience level. All belt levels are welcome in the adult classes. New students generally train alongside other new students and lower belts. We teach the foundational movements of jiu jitsu – hip escapes, guard passing, defensive fundamentals, as well as other basic concepts and techniques. For those just beginning their jiu jitsu journey we put great emphasis on executing movements properly and safely.

As students advance through the Brazilian Jiu Jitsu belt system their fundamentals become increasingly strong. GRBJJ focuses on time honored and competition tested techniques with the highest percentage of success. The longer you train at the GRR Academy, the more you will see the principles of movement and pressure that run through all aspects of the sport. Jiu Jitsu is unique among the martial arts for its constant evolution of technique, demanding innovation. For those who have a solid foundation, we teach higher level techniques and complex sequences, allowing them to take their games to the next level.

Classes consist of warm up, technique demonstration, drilling, positional sparring, “shark tank,” and live rolling, enabling you to put your knowledge to practice.
